In the wave comes
With force of feeling
Inundation of tidal swell
All the history that surrounds me and you
Like a torrential well
I drown inside
Or the power of a vortex
That takes me down
Sometimes
The memory of what we endured
Eclipses everything
But if so
How is that
On some days
Alone again
I feel so free
So released from all the pain
That we both knew
Now long gone
Where as for years past
I feared that I would never survive the flood
As wave after wave of memory hit
Taking me down
Am I rising now
Because it feels I finally can see
Some days
A calm clear horizon
Stretching out
In front of me
Infinitely
Rich with the pregnant possibility
Of a new way of living
Freed from all that past
Upset, confusion, powerlessness and pain
Love this.
