If I could
I would dry all of your tears
After you cried out the pain you felt
Until the flood abated
And the restless sea of your heart
Was finally still
If I could I would hold up a mirror
To show you the beauty that I sense
Living deep within your soul
That those who were blind
Were unable to recognise
If I could I would erase all you doubts and fears
And fill you with the certainty
Of how precious you are
And how loved
But I am only a human being
So all I can do
Is listen
And hold a space open
Offering you a place
For you to be
Fully yourself
Love this

This is a very beautiful poem Deborah. It is all any of us can do. And it is a gift the the person receiving it. But most of the world does not recognise this. Just beautiful my frend xx

This just gave me shivers, and all I could think was ‘I’d love someone do to do that’. I guess most of us feel that way. Beautifully written, incredibly moving ♥

This is so beautiful! It is such a gift …. to know a person who really listens, and gives us the place and the space to be ourselves, to validate who we are. This is so lovely. Thank you! I would love to be your neighbor.
