Children of the light

You bring sunshine to the dark night

And even though the burden you were forced to carry is heavy

In time you will shine bright

Throwing off the heaviness

Of all of the pain and hidden shame

That was never really yours

In the first place

The world may have taught you to hide your true face

When it never saw the stars shining deep inside your soul

It was a brilliance too intense for them to behold

And so they feared it

But it is for you now

To reveal it

To all the others who also suffer here

And are almost killed or eclipsed

Or bowed down under the weight of fear

Let nothing now dim the light of love

That you feel in your heart

For this aching world
