Softly lay me down
In green fields
Close by to where the river flows
Endlessly surrendering my thoughts to its tide
Carry me away
In silent reverie
And let me stray
Where my soul freely wills
Riding gently
Each whisper of breeze
To a place beyond care
Of deep silence and ancient trees
Where nature spirits frolic in light air
And sound of hummingbird song
Is all that pierces the gloaming
For I am so tired of roaming
So far from peace
And my weary jangled body
Longs so ardently
For this sweet release
Deeply found in nature
Beautiful
