All that is left

Sometimes all that is left in my heart is sadness

Tears that fall like rain

As the walls holding my grief inside collapse

To obliterate hope of happier days to come

Inside the sadness is all the love and longing we had

To finally meet

But forces keep conspiring to keep us apart

As it seems to be for twin souls

And those who don’t believe

Just try to tear everything down

With suspicion and mistrust

My head catches on fire

And when I tell you all you can say

Is you cry every time I am sad

Is this to be believed

Or is this a lie

Will the rest our lives just be

One long goodbye

And a veil of tears

That clears the soul for something else

I am feeling to the depths of my being now

Utter exhaustion
