Sometimes life is harsh
We find ourselves walking alone
Through a stony landscape
From which all love and connection
Has removed
And there in the gloom
Our heart contracts
With the tearing of a thousand things
Realisations of mistakes we made
When we could not see that far ahead
Along life’s twisted road
And then the storm comes
Bringing deluge
That makes a flood
Destroying the landscape again
As it becomes
Almost impossible to see that even here
Amidst the chaos
Seeds of new life grow
Invisibly in the silence
Buried deep below
As ghosts hovering in the shadows
Call our name
Awakening us from fervent dreams
Over long nights of despair
And we wonder how on earth
Everything broken
Will ever repair
Or if love and light and life
Will ever come into our lives again
And grant us redemption
From the burden
Of our heart break and despair
I love it deb! xo
