I awoke in the wee small hours of Tuesday morning to the soft falling of rain and a breeze blowing through the narrow gap between my open bedroom doors. At that moment I felt that supreme and illusive feeling of grace that can only come upon one in the silence, as nature and the elements surrounding our physical bodies touch the soul. I actually went outside in my bare feet and walked in the rain and held a dew soaked leaf from my tulip tree to my cheek to feel the healing coolness of it. When I got back into bed the words of this poem came to me.
Tears are healing like the rain
Falling gently from the leaves
Softening the hot burning places of trauma
Tears fall from the soul
To cleanse and soothe those raw places
Scoured out by loss or pain
Softening wounds and scars
Reminding us that grace can come
Bringing wisdom to the heart that remains
Seeking benediction
From the blessingΒ
Of falling rain
I’m so glad you ventured out into the rain in your bare feet, and the conveyed those wondrous sensations in your glorious poem. A lovely up lifting piece …xx

Queensland Australia desperately need rain because there are over 100 fires burning in the dry drought areas. The human tears will help to deal with their loss , the tears to come from above will help to create new life where nothing but ash is left.

What nature has wrought! I love the poetry that was inspired by a walk in the rain.
