Revealed

 

These are the challenges before us

These are the lessons we are learning

Do not turn away from your pain

Do not expect things to always go easy

Do not expect that life will be

A bed of roses without thorns

Days of unending sunshine without rain

For maybe we are meant to grow from pain

Maybe we are meant to discover

How much of our suffering

Comes from resistance to truths we need to face

Jumping hurdles we need to surmount

To get to the other side or build up our muscles

Not that we ever arrive

For in this life

Are we not always journeying

Always moving in a spiral

Sometimes climbing

Sometimes falling

Maybe we just needed to back up a little

To get another view

Of situations which confused us

From an earlier perspective

Maybe

All of these challenges

Are meant to be

It is okay to fall and then to rise

Just believe that you have the power

To embrace and learn from this

Believe in your soul

That you can open your heart again

Even in the midst of fear and pain

And that often a smile will dawn

After a shower of tears

As truths and realities

We could not see before

Are finally revealed
