A way back to the love

We should always have had for ourselves inside

Can only be found after we learn to embrace the demons

That try their very hardest

To keep self acceptance at bay

Whenever you struggle

To feel yourself as good

To treat yourself with compassion

Don’t forget that once all those years ago

You deserved parents who should

Have helped you to grow and be accepted in love

To understand emotions

And find comfort when you were hurting

Sadly so many of us

Never received these gifts

And that is why we struggle with such enormous rifts

Deep down inside of us

Wide chasms of emptiness

That can become raging oceans that so often threaten to drown us

But the truth is those waves are summoned up

By the deeper self

That just wants to call attention

To all the ways in which our soul was neglected down deep inside

And so using love and acceptance

We need to work as hard as we can to find and summon up from within

A voice of love

The power of love

A way back to all the love

We have hidden

And lost the way to inside
