Embers smoulder here

In the quiet

After you have gone

The warm fire you lit within me

Still gives me comfort

Warm memories of how it feels

To know a love complete

That asks so little

And longs to give everything

Keeps alive within this heart

A joy that is inexpressible

And yet try

As I might

To give words to this sheer delight

It is impossible

And so instead I use this image

Of glowing embers

That helps me remember

The warmth

The comfort

The healing energy

Of your freely given love
