Tears fall
In the quiet silence between your words
Talking of people we loved and lost
And the times we shared together
Picture images come of us
As we were then
But they are now coloured
By the undertow of grief
That was barely perceptible then
I do not seem to be able to stem the flow
Of the tide that is rising up within me
And I am aware of the fear there too
As it always is
Will I be too much
Please my friend don’t say a word
Please my friend just be with me in the quiet silence
And if you can
Reach a hand out across the space between us
And help me know
With your physical gesture
That I am safe
And not alone
you are never alone, you have us, we are always here, cheering you on, supporting you, so never fear, ok? Love and tons of hugs…xxxxooooo
