When my heart was so full of darkness
You were the one who was able to open and give
From a wellspring of love
That seems to brim so naturally from deep within
If I tried over time
To express in words
The totality of what you have given to me
With your steadfast love
I never would have hoped to give voice to the feelings
Your love and care
Awakens deep within my heart
And so there is only this poem
How to explain the kiss of sunshine upon bare skin?
It is impossible
You can only feel it with your consciousness
How to explain how such deep love
Can give rise to a tide swelling from within
Obliterating everything that wanted before
To keep you damned
And so my love
There is only this poem
A pale substitute
For the sunshine of your love
Awakening my soul
And spirit
From deep within
Emerging From The Dark Night
