I came across the following prayer when reading through some old journals this afternoon. I seem to remember a friend gave it to me. I thought I might share it today :
Dear God
Empty my soul of its history. Help me to keep only Wisdom, Goodness and Truth knowing all these energies carry with them people I love and memories that make me who I am.
Help me to shed everything that leads nowhere and everything that continually repeats itself but serves nothing at all.
Help me to receive and give only love.
Amen.

Thanks Beckie I am not sure if we can entirely liberate ourselves from burdens of the past which damage us but I hope that in time with the help of recovery and a higher power we can overcome and lead happier more peaceful lives. ((–))
