That so long ago got covered in pain and hurt and fear and rage
Can you find the courage in your heart
To enter that deep dark space
Where sorrow dwells
Like a deep underground spring
That lost its source
Can you know that all this pain
Was a sign of all that
Was unrequited or never came to pass
And that a hungry heart full of longing
Is so desperate for its own recogniton
Can you see those demons that grew so overpowering
Hidden deep inside
Can you love the darkness in you
And do you have the strength and couarge
To keep reaching for the light
Offering hope and the healing power of your own love
Even through the darkest of nights?

I think most of us can if we remind ourselves that we can only recognize the light from within the darkness. Beautifully written!
