I will accept that you are gone
As long shadows fall over my soul
During this the late summer of my life
I will move where I need to go
Carrying with me these realisations
That living with you was sometimes hard
And sometimes the source of such rest and comfort
I allow all of these memories
And watch them rise as they do
At moments least expected
Catching me unawares
And let my tears fall as they will
Regardless of who is watching
And what they think
Because accepting you are gone
Letting go is a process
One I can only co-operate with
But one I cannot control
I can only surrender
While my inner ocean breathes
Inflowing and outflowing
Loosening attachments to a past
Revealing to me
The undeniable truth
That you are gone
hugs. a hard reality to accept huh? xo
