Breath of air
Let me honour you as living thing
Reminder of all that is alive and fleeting
And has wings
The ability to lift me
Free of thoughts of doom
That can so often trouble this anxious mind
Let me remember
That past pain
Although it lives within
As tortured memory
Summoning up demons
Can never be a force of freedom
In the now
It may be a reminder to take care
And stay free from those places
And wills that
In lacking care
Would imprison
Or enforce a belief in deficit and lack
Let me remember
Breath of air
You are the presence of this new moment
Sensation you bring me home
Truth you live deep inside
In a place
Free of past imprints
Where only spaciousness
Openness
Love and freedom
Abide
To wit . .this particular passage brings the truth of the matter.
“Past pain . . . can never be a force of freedom.” Truer words there ain’t.
