Do we really live on solid land
Or are there gaps in our consciousness
Tiny crevices from within which vapours
Escape
Colouring the perpections of our lives
Covering the present over with
Veneers tinged with intimations
Of deeper things
We sought to hide
Or bury
Or run from?
How then are we to live
Strung on the highwire above our souls imagining
Never entirely sure
What is dream and what is reality
If to you the sky is green
And I say sky is only blue
What is to become of us
You superimpose your perception
Tinged with what I regard as self deception
Over mine
Do I refuse
Or open to
Embrace a different view?
Can we co exist here
With all of our separate dreams
Separate realities
Seperate imaginings
Can we allow them to become
Not barricades to connection
And even indeed to love
But rather open doorways
To each other’s souls
To each other’s reality
To each other’s imagining?
Lovely!
Sometimes I wonder if MY reality IS reality. I think to myself, what if my reality is that I have been paralyzed and confined to a bed for my entire life and I am imagining this reality I live inside of. I can’t think on stuff like that for too long or I get anxious. Too much thinking, for me, no bueno.
Dreams and reality is a bit more pleasant to ponder on. If we are ALL living this reality, then can’t it be said that perhaps we are all living a collective dream?
Peace

But when the reality out there is so horrendous is it any wonder we want to dream? Just know what a lovely person you are because if you were not you would not struggle so much with this. I really mean that. ❤

Well thank you, much. 🙂
Yes, we do need the respite of dreams, don’t we? . .

Yes, dont beat yourself up about it. I think reverie and dreaming and imagination are great aspects of our inner life. We need them. We dont have to be lost in them all the time and modern culture may negate them at times but they are valuable forms of reality…<3

Writing saved my life when I was very young. It afforded me a space that I could go to and shut everything else out. Dreams happened inside my imagination, good dreams.

Gosh we have a lot of similarities I did exactly the same… hold onto those dreams they are from your soul. x

And we are all entitled to our reality and each reality is different. So much is coloured by our minds. ❤

And I also just thought this thought in response to your comments. It’s a breakthrough when we can see our reality is just one take on things as that means we can keep an open mind. and heart to other’s realities. Its what I was attempting to express in that poem.

You’re right.
It’s easy to lose sight of that, and get wrapped up in our own stuff. Even when we are open minded, sometimes we might not take a moment to consider someone else’s reality.

Yes, I personally know I do it. I imagine all kinds of things which are actually my own projections… I think is a sign of growth when we realise this….
