I know pain Yes what of it? Does it make you scared? Do I remind you of what it was like to bleed And be told it was no big thing?
Excuse me if I don’t want to join you
There In that place of denial
Excuse me if I want to
Tell my honest truth
Oh yes I seem to have forgotten I don’t need your permission Or your approval
And People like you turn away Anyway From truth and pain too difficult to face Leaving those who feel deeply, all alone
So if you don’t want to believe me Just do me a favour And walk away Or let me turn upon my heel And close the door
How many that suffer from The mental illness Label Were really just souls Whose pain, abuse or trauma Was longing to be seen? Got buried under the cover of silence?
Do we see and describe the symptoms or address the cause?
Do we blame the sufferer for responding In a natural way To what was unnnatural in the first place. Then deny the very truth of it?
Set yourself free From their prision
Truly beauty You don’t belong there
Don’t expect the scapegoater To ever see That truth
That the depth of you suffering and soul Allows you to see further than others do
Or deny how much they long to make you as shallow as they are
So they don’t feel any pain or have to admit wrong doing, ignorance, helplessness or confusion
You were never meant to be a raindrop
If life and hard experience gave you a soul
As deep as the ocean
Bravo
