The light bearer

Blue butterfly.jpg

The light bearer must so often travel on alone

Even through the darkest and most lonely of nights

She is the one who glimpses in that place

Not only a prison of suffering

Dead embers of a fire of frustrated passion that died out from wanting

But also a place of rebirthing that brings

Life out of deadness

When the abandoned one

Found in that space

Is finally known

Loved

Cherished

Reclaimed

Reignited

The light bearer must carry her lamp

And use it to illuminate the way forward

For others

She must remind those souls whose suffering is deep

That they are not crazy or stupid or mad

But merely awakening to deeper truths

At one of the darkest times in recent history

And that their suffering is not in vain

The light bearer’s heart will ache

On this earthly journey

When such darkness is known

Especially on those difficult nights

When her body aches to be loved and ravished

By a soul who is also awake

And recognises in her crisis not danger but opporutuity

For if the light bearer is the one who

Both survived and responded to crisis

Then she is the one that can say this is my truth

My vision

My knowing

Born of harsh experience

Something that in teaching me wisdom

Means wisdom

Can never again

Be stolen from me

And this wisdom is what lights

The lamp

That illuminates

Our way home

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

  1. Wow, I love this. Just wrote a post and mentioned how I long for someone to be there for me during a crises… I’m so tired of going through them alone. So this post really resonated with me. It’s beautiful.
