Stay close to the light

Keep it burning bright

The sun that lives deep down in your soul

Darkness can sometimes

Seem to smother

All the living energy

That gives us power

And then we feel as though

We are leaden

And can no longer rise

Others tell us we are dark

Because we feel or see things due to the light we have inside

That others cannot

And then it seems we lose our way

In a world that seems so foreign

But just remember that the hurt and pain you feel

Is testament to the love you know

Lives somewhere

And you must find it there

In the heart you had to bury

So as to no longer be hurt

But that beating heart

Sends up its rhythms

Asking you to find it

And when you do

Oh the love you will find

Nothing can erase it totally

Ever again

And when you feel it

It will take you home
