This is one of my favourite go to songs when I want to feel the uplift of love flow. Sade’s album featuring this song came out in the first years of my marriage after I got sober in my early 30’s. It expressed how much joy I felt to be released from the grip of addiction just shortly after I married my ex husband in 1993. I thought of it today as I am in a happy space. I remember with fondness the 11 years we had before I went into a downward spiral. And I am grateful now to be on the other side. It’s getting closer and closer to my 24th anniversary of sobriety but its all a day at a time. So glad I am no longer in that place.
