Let me be a voice

Let me be a voice for love Not a voice for hate or fear Surely there are things That happen on this earth Which I hate And can never love But the love is in letting the hatred reveal the  longing for kindness, peace and freedom that lies beneath what was strangled tormented or thwarted of love

Let me remember too, that at any moment I can learn to surround my own fear with love

We stand at a time when there are those Who will act without compassion They must have no idea of how it is to walk in that other person’s shoes How can we stand by and say nothing? Do nothing when there is suffering?

Yes suffering is part of life And we will never erradicate pain But we can be a voice for compassion For understanding

So let us be this

Let our voices sound out a clear note And let them sing a song of love Emit a cry for understanding compassion and healing of all that in being broken Opens us to our deepest most fundamental human need for love
