Its interesting because when I was a child I was nervous and quiet and had a nervous giggle but then an alter EGO stepped in and when I saw that people believed my new mask I learned to believe it myself.
When we dont get truly seen we learn to pretend. I hear those same words from lots of people especially addicts…addiction appears to go along with pretending and covering over vulnerability. Embracing authenticity means taking off the mask.
