When you hear my heart

My whole spirit lifts

And my body relaxes too

So profoundly

Opening into and releasing this ocean of deep feelings

Sometimes the swell of it is large

As I struggle to do my best

To stay centered in my breath

Breathing in love

Breathing in peace

Breathing out fear

As my heart beats in both

Anxiety and wonder

Life you are miraculous, though

As hard as it all seems at times

And just as yesterday a rainbow appeared

When I made the effort to trust

Every day I must

Keep looking for the light

As I say to the darkness
