Loving and being loved

You are my friend

my love for you will never end

for your precious heart

always brings sunshine to my day

chasing dark rain clouds away

sheds light

even on the darkest night

when doubting spins my restless thoughts around

poisoning the tender threads of love

slowly ravelling and unravelling

deep inside of me

Knowing you is a blessing

because it so often weakens

all of these barriers my heart erected

to keep my soul safe

when really there was never a way to know

the plan of God

but never the less

in this I trust

when our two hearts truly touch

then we sense the reason

for our existence

as we feel these unfurling shoots of faith

grow stronger

no longer feeding fears

of obliteration!

And then, suddenly

out of the deepest darkness

my soul is filled
