Never knowing love
We longed for a warm hug
And our beings contracted
With that longing
We only learned to bury
Turning always towards the coldness
Suffering deep inside
The hollow barren feeling
To know the warmth of love
First we must be honest
To every single pain that lives inside our hearts
Never turning away
Nor blaming ourselves for trying so hard
Only understanding the reason why
Because as the poet says
Hurt serves this purpose
To fuel the fire inside us
That can ignite
Our quest for healing
No matter how far we travel
Along that rocky path of stone
We must never lose sight of the sun
Even as it constantly disappears
Behind the clouds that hide it
Keep trusting in the power of your soul to heal
Be real
And never give up
Knowing that your spirit is a fire
Contains a fire
That must never become
Completely dampened
Or extinguished
By sorrow
