
Your pain will hide itself underneath your words
Sending up vapors of self rejection
As longing tinges every syllable that falls from your pen
Tears fall as I read and absorb that pain
Wishing for you more than this
Loving arms to hold you and comfort you
From within
A place of understanding and compassion
For yourself
Where you will no longer give the best in you away
To be loved
But the possibly today your poem only acts for me
Like a mirror
In which I see an older reflection of myself
Disappearing
Amidst the clearing of the mist
And so it is I rest within my own peace
Held soft inside the knowing
Of how utterly vulnerable and tenous
This human experience
