Your poems smile with lovely images
Of nature and children and life
They bring a blessing to my world
Like a lovely soft rainshower
That gently falls
On a day of crippling heat
But at times I am reminded of the deep
And of the dark place
Where there was no light
I seemed to live within
For so many years
What use now to regret the past
When in truth its just what we had to live through
To get to here
What purpose to complain about the hand of cards
We were dealt by fate?
And yet we do
Just possibly the pain of the schism
Between what we longed for and what we got
Will drive us on a quest to make a new path
Out of the encounter with
What we did and failed to do
At the necessary time
And for some it will be a long long ride
to get to the place where we can finally
Smile at and love the person in the mirror
We wake with each morning
And take into the land of dreams at night
And so if we lost the way to our rainbow
Let our souls wait upon the rain showers
Because perhaps in time a new one will
Appear over the horizon
The closer and closer we move towards
Embracing and making sense of
Each and every one
The faltering steps we took
The choices we made
The wisdom borne through all
Of our lessons and suffering
Love the imagery you’ve used here about us losing track of our rainbow and waiting on the rain showers for a new one to appear on the horizon. Captures the mood so well. Wonderfully written poem ❤️ 🌈
