Witness

Creation gave me a powerful mind

And a heart that can feel to the depths

I will not turn against myself

Any more

This little girl became so forlorn

When I would not see her

Now when I look at the lioness fire in her eyes

I put my faith in that

Especially as the Moon m

Moves closer and closer

To the open doorway

Of the Lion’s den

Why did they demonize me

When I roared

Why did they criticize me into

Silence?

Was it just fear?

Never mind

I am not their scapegoat any more

I will don my dress of Gold

And take my place on earth

Even as I climb in my imagination

That stairway of light

Leading my spirit

To the stars

For I am both

Earth dweller

And celestial being
