the happiest thing I feel

is your heart beat close to mine

when our two oceans connect

I know we are so deeply a part of each other

and that the love you give

sustains me

even when I am almost lost in my human world

these daily things

like brushing your fur

gazing into your eyes

feeling your warmth

are what bring me fully alive

and connect me to

this present moment

in a world where I was so often

so deeply alone

your constant presence has given me

the most precious of gifts

while revealing to me how tainted is my view

of humans

due to past leavings

past sorrows

that lived in a pool so deep

it became impossible to name them

for so many years
