We see as we see
We feel as we feel
We are fully sensate beings
Designed with hearts and souls and minds
Vast and perceptive
Not allof humanity lives this vastness
Lives to embrace
Its great divides
So if you do
See it as a gift
There is nothing wrong with you
For seeing clearly
For feeling deeply
And for aching with the recognition
Of the pain of this disjoint
Between the spiritual and the material
The human and the creaturely
Know yourself as both
With your heart and soul as the bridge
And also see your mind
As the staircase that allows you to descend and ascend
Above and below
While trying your level best
To walk forward with steady grace
Both feet firmly planted
Firmly upon
This often tortured ground
