Knowing you are struggling

There seems so little I can do

So please do not mistake my silence

For lack of care

So many times I was there

But sometimes I do not think any of my doing

Really helped

So now I choose to let you go

And send you all of my love from afar

There is a person in you

Who is hiding

I believe in her

But I do not believe

In the ways you are surrendering your power

I have cried so many tears for you

But I am not sure what use this crying can really do

For you anymore

And even if

These waves of guilt arrive

Lapping without rest

Upon the shores of my mind

I will somehow find a way

To let them wash on through

As I sink ever deeper into

The healing embrace

Of this stillness

For sometimes

The most loving thing we can do

To set someone free

Is let them walk their own path

While keeping our focus

On what is truly best

For our own heart

Our own mind

Our own life.
