So much emotion

Emotions can be like a ocean of feeling, memory and sensation living in our soul and under the surface of our skin.. This was on my mind after going with friends yesterday to see a movie made of a concert Mick Fleetwood put on for his friend and founder of Fleetwood Mac in its earlier days, John Green..

I did not know of John Green before this movie and he stood in the background a lot, according to Fleetwood, allowing the other members to be the ones whose surnames carried the name of the band.. the concert took place at the London Palladium to honor John who died in July 2020.. I do not know how it was allowed in post Covid times and the line up of performers was vast… besides past members of Fleetwood Mac within it’s various forms and permutations, were the son of Ringo Starr, Jack Starky, Pink Floyd guitarist, Dave Gilmour, the guitarist from rock band, Doctor Feelgood whose name I do not know but my friend Carmel did, lead singer of Aerosmith, Steve Tyler, Neil Finn, Noel Gallagher and a host of others…they performed a lot of blues numbers and the emotions of longing and need and loss just poured out in many of the songs which bought various members of the audience to a standing ovation at times.

I loved sitting there soaking it all in, and I also saw etched on some of the faces the signs of the hard lives they lived, John Green was actually born the same year as my sister, Jude who died in 2014, apparently he was in an asylum at one time to due psychotic breaks from LSD… It was such a booze and drugs culture back then in the 1970’s it seems to me that these baby boomer kids (1940s born) were carrying so much of their parent’s repressed emotional lives and trauma too.

London had the s*&% bombed out of it during the Second World War and the rise of all of this energy and feeling associated with the aftermath is powerfully expressed in certain astrological alignments and signatures that spanned the period of the mid 60s to late 70s. especially the Uranus Pluto conjunctions in Virgo and oppositions to Saturn and Chiron in Pisces (ruled by Neptune).. Interestingly with this latest Full Moon last night we also have a conjunction of Venus as well as the Sun and Chiron in Aries.. that is a hell of a lot of creative fire and individual energy right there and I have been noticing the tone of it in some recent posts by people I follow on WordPress not to mention the battle woman are currently undergoing to have their voices heard.

Mick Fleetwood gave only brief spurts of commentary during the performance the most memorable being about arriving back on the outskirts of London to hear on the radio that the Beatles had honored and loved Fleetwood Mac’s hit, Albatross. such a haunting and lovely guitar track.

The ability of music to convey emotions is so so powerful and I resonate with all of that having Neptune (which rules dream, imagination, poetry and music) in the sign of Scorpio so associated with deep fundamental underlying power and emotions.. This was a strong influence for that early 1960.s period and so much creative fire (Mars rules both Scorpio and Aries) was unleashed during that period as well as so much over the top behavior… That generation (the 1940’s born who were so creative and active during that period) have grown and are far far older and wiser now.. Some of them did not make it, like Janis Joplin whose small town constricted life in a Baptist religious community did not really prepare her for the unleashing of all of the buried, repressed instinctive energy and emotion.. Never the less all of these artists gave a great gift to humanity with their creativity and it was such lovely experience to witness much of it in the concert yesterday.. I know my sister Jude, now gone from us for 7 years on April 20th (Easter Sunday) would have loved it.

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.
