There is a place

Where peace lives

Let me live there

There is a time when storms rage

And bring a clearing with the understanding

Of how we suffered

And yet that was then

Even if

A lot of scars

Remain deeply etched beneath our skin

And certain triggers

Bring remembering

There can be some truths

That seem too hard to face

And yet we must process them

Because here is where our power lies

In finding some way

To make beauty and meaning of it all

And some storms

All storms really

Pass on through

Just as waves of the ocean rise and fall

So let us just witness it all

And as the night falls

Find a way to take

Our comfort and blessings

From the knowledge of the stars.
