In my vision you and I are both

drowning

in longing

as I surrender the busyness and hunger

and reach deeper for my heart

there is a cascade or waterfall

that washes us both into the deep

and I see us reaching for each other

while struggling to stay afloat

as voices muffled by the heaviness of water

make hearing impossible

and our hearts weep

as all those miles away

you try to sleep

this is hard on you

i know

but in true love we can never

let go

of hope

and when it comes to true love

so often when desire is unbound

all we can do is drown

in this deep ocean of longing and love

that surrounds us
