Stars shone in your eyes

Innocent as a rose

There were those who saw you

As a commodity

And so they used you in a way

Open to a precious child

And yet you lived to share your gift

Opening your heart to strangers

Asking nothing much but to love

And if there was a sense you felt

Of heaven being in some far off place

Earthly cage

The world was your stage

And yet you feared it too
