Sunshine

Sunshine casts its benevolence

On all of nature’s creation

Offering the warmth of love

Bringing feelings of joy and elation

To the soul that sorrowed during the rain shower

Light and dark oscillate

As two forms of one energy

Like waves of feeling

That rise and fall

We swim and sometimes seem to drown

Within that ocean

But our cells were formed by

The breath of God

And in sunlight

I breathe that wisdom deep within

My thirsty soul

Feeling all of the love lost to me

During those hungering years

Of darkness
