True happiness and gratitude

True happiness comes from knowing you are aligned with your own values, and that you can be true to them. True happiness does not lie so much in outward things but in the relationship we have to them and to ourselves. Even if things go on in the world that we do not like we can find a way to be at peace, we can have and express our feelings, we can allow painful feelings a place by making space but not attaching to them. We can find our flow when we follow the way our heart needs to go. ‘Sometimes that means finding a way to leave or gain distance from a situation or circumstance in which we feel we are betraying our own values or reality or recognising we are powerless to control another who does not want or need to change.

Lately I can recognise when disequilibrium or lack of peace is affecting me.. I am getting better at taking distance.. recognising the sign that I need to make a move, often I would stay in situations literally ‘chewing my arm off’ in frustration and feeling powerless to leave.. these days I leave sooner so I guess my boundaries are getting better..

Lately I have real friends in my life who also honour similar values, of empathy, consideration and respect.. I feel so blessed for these relationships many of which have come to me through owning my dog Jasper and connecting with others in nature.. I am so glad for the gift of my dog and for my connection to nature and my soul..

God it seems to me is the flow of life that when I follow it naturally takes me towards others I am meant to connect with in life..trusting this flow brings me peace, trusting in my own goodness and sense of value apart from others has been a major lesson, learning to let go of inner negative voices a very big step forward.. Today as Venus meets the heart of the Sun in Gemini I am so grateful for every single experience that has led me to here.

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.
