Justified

Sometime it is hard to feel justified

In expressing the anger you denied

Sometimes it just hurts

When others don’t understand

And make you feel bad

For expressing how you felt

But never the less

Your feelings are justified

How will it help you if

Other’s lied

By not allowing you to feel your truth

How will it help you if you just

Deny

And lock it all inside

And start to bleed

From the terrible cost

The invisible cuts

And its not just your own wounds you carry

Its the one you witnessed

In your family

And still remember

Which they then deny

Or try to hide

And punish you for remembering

This is how the black sheep gets sent away

To an invisible island

But someday

We must have the courage

To proclaim the truth

Even if only

To ourselves

Damn the torpedoes

Come what may
