Disappointment

My heart broke all over again

At the sight of your name

And those words

I just don’t know what to say anymore

But then the email just disappeared

Into thin air

As my stomach clenched

With the memory of the precious promise of you

I held the pillow to my chest

And did all I could

To calm my jaggered breath

Why is this happening to me

You want to get free

And lean on me

I feel my back is breaking

So utterly forsaken

And yet

Here I am

Doing my level best

To endure the lastest chapter

Of disappointment
