Marianne Williamson has started posting videos of herself reading from her book A Return to Love over the past few days.. I am sharing the third one in which she reads from Chapter One, today. It interested me that she speaks of her own psychotic core.. a scene in which her inner child is being terrorised by an older woman who is almost psychotic with rage.. If you read much Jungian writing you will recognise this collective, archetypal figure and especially the appearance it makes all through modern life with those of us raped or dismissed in our wild vulnerable feminine core (both women and men), this archetypal figure could be called the witch mother, it is almost a demonic force in that it riddles us with fear, terror and shame all issues that Brene Brown addresses in depth in many of her video talks and books… I had not remembered this part from Marianne’s book which deals with the many manifestations of fear and also is very honest about her own struggles to find self love.. I am sharing this in the hopes it may offer something to others at this inward time when so much fear is gripping our planet. And offer it as a reminder to be kind to ourselves.
