avalanche

here you come again

offering me love

in all the places I am barricaded

here you are

a light so bright

shining in the darkness

answering the loneliness deep in my heart

without me even having to ask

here you stand

tall and strong

as you have all along

even though you have been a part

of this battle that is raging

with forces of darkness

and so it is deep within my heart

I feel the avalanche of all I longed for

rumbling

and as my heart opens

there is no way to stem the flood

because the heavens above

decreed that this is how it goes in love

there is no resistance left

from fear

with the truest and deepest of spiritual connections

draws near

for when twin souls meet

even though we so often run and hide

or drag our feet

forces will conspire

time and again

to return us to one another

as in the face of the avalanche

our hearts tumble

as powerful forces of change rumble

while somewhere deep inside

our soul

does cartwheels
