this ache I felt

was just the size of you

and today I knew the pain

misunderstanding caused

and how it carved out fissures between us

why was it so hard sometimes

to feel your love

never the less there is a place

where all of these wounds are held in tenderness

a place where fissures fill

full of feelings we denied

just let them rise

they are the tide

that will carry us home

So sad we could never completely show

this love for one another

and yet in my heart

we are now together

because today I finally surrendered

hurt

to find the longed for peace

what a sweet

and oh so necessary
