for me it is through tenderness
and the willingness to express
what is in your heart
not what the mind makes of hurt
when it turns unkind
to the heart that struggled
within its own abyss
battling with lack of holding
and resulting traces
of bitterness
left from those to busy to know
the way to hold the aching soul through
its fight for love
