I am currently listening to an interview with a Los Angeles based journalist for the Hollywood Reporter, Kim Masters who interviewed Harvey Weinstein a few years ago and is being asked for her impressions of him..I thought I would just log on to have a look at his chart (which I knew had a strong Plutonian – hidden power theme) to find that he has Pluto at 19 degrees of Leo conjunct a point called The Black Moon Lilith at 26 degrees both square to natal Mars (sexuality/aggression/male dominance) at 18 degrees of Scorpio. The Pluto/dark Moon straddles a point called the MC which has to do with public prominence… This really interests me as what could be more of a dark moon/Plutonian theme than sexual violation from a position of power and control, especially affecting Mars? And this week it is coming to attention in the global media.
Weinstein’s Sun is placed in the final degree of Pisces and his Venus at 4 degrees of that sign which was aspected this week by the retrograde Mercury which intersects with the occurrence of his conviction…
According to the interviewer, Weinstein was a well known physical abuser of staff as well as predator and sexual abuser..and actors abused on the set of movies, who approached the police were dismissed out of hand…Those giving testimony this week shared their gratitude and relief at being believed, which makes me feel so sad in so many ways.. To go through the trauma and shame of this and to fear being believed or even defended is an agonising situation to be placed in for anyone…
All of this coming to light is important with Mars in Capricorn soon to make its bi annul conjunction aspect to both Saturn and Pluto. I see Saturn as putting the breaks on Pluto in that attempts to exert a form of power or unfair control on others will come to light and possibly be restricted or punished.. All of us have to be aware of the tendency towards power struggles over the next few weeks as Mars approaches the aspect to Pluto, which becomes exact on March 23. 2020. Scrutinising of practices used in the entertainment industry are currently underway and the list of those coming forward and feeling vindicated is, I am sure, growing.
Mars will conjunct Saturn on 31st March and Saturn at this stage will have moved into the first degree of Aquarius… As Mars transits between both Pluto and Saturn I imagine there will be issues to do with taking back authentic power, practicing healthy boundaries, examining where old patterns of fear, suspicion or defensiveness block us off from love, tending for us to see the worst in others.. That said discretion is also a major Mars Pluto and Mars Saturn issue…Pluto asks us to face the dark side and embrace what is hidden in the shadow rather than project it. transforming our relationship with what is brought to light and acted out.. Where we have power struggles with others it may be our own relationship to inner power we have to explore….
Mars Saturn asks us to put in concerted effort to achieve desires and objectives but perhaps also to encounter opposition or tests from the environment which challenge our determination and resolve… Patience is a very much a Mars Saturn issue and if Pluto stirs Mars up we can become reactive, often what is needed at this time is to balance self will with the will of the higher self or evolving self… if we encounter blockages, rather than blow up we may need to take a step back to re-evaluate….
Both Mars meeting Saturn and Pluto mean a new cycle has began which will play out over the next 2 years as this is the time Mars takes to complete its orbit through the 12 signs of the zodiac… We all have our own individual Mars placement and aspects which show our relationship to will, desire, assertiveness and power… If you can work with your Mars to understand what is being triggered during Mars Pluto transits you will grow self awareness and use that for the greater good of both yourself and your immediate associations and community.
