Lashings of wind and rain
Collide with the window pane
As waves of energy speak to our souls
Of pain of old
We now navigate
Over our morning coffee
Speaking of how alone she was
With only the comfort of a warm stone
To keep her safe at night
Makes me weep so much
Within these hollowed out spaces
Ocean deep
Tell me that my suffering was not all in vain
Please
For otherwise this refrain of loss
Is too heavy
And may drown me
Instead by your loving presence
Hold me here
Even if only within the silence
Of truths that fall between the crevices
Of conversation
For without you here
My remembering may fail
As recollections and realisations
Fall into hollow ground
While all around the lashings
Of wind rain surround me
Held captive here
By so many old losses
Obscuring my vision
Deep inside this lonely horizon
