Sometimes rain falling
Waters flowers
But drowns our soul
In a heavy weight of despair
That blocks out light
Then it is we feel
The life has gone from us
While our soul remembers the sweet memory
Of how tenderly sunlight fell
Illuminating space
With a sense of grace
While the memory of sunlight
Feels as a far away
As tenderness
And if someone says
Remember the sun
Sometimes the darkness is so heavy
That no memory comes
To ease our pain
This is just how it is some days
Some months
Some years
No sunshine at all
To light the way
And yet even as we waited
Upon the rising of the sun
All along seeds were germinating
Until one day
After all of this rain
We wake again
To view a field of flowers
Scattered as far ahead
On the horizon
As the eye can see
