I am the scapegoat
The weakest link
The silent dumping ground
For your judgement and shame
I am the one who is open too
To the things that burn inside of you
Because I know how it is to deeply feel
And struggle within
From the earliest time I was told
That is not the way to be
That is not how we live
And you may just have to travel so far away
With all of these sins, and judgements cast on your head
Into a wilderness
From which love has gone
You struggled to be respected for the reality of you
But all they ever saw or knew
Were the defective parts of you
Reminding you over and over of how you failed
While giving you not one ounce of help
To find the way to truly live free and express
Is it any wonder so many die in shame
Is it any wonder
Because the scapegoat just takes all the blame
While their attackers go free
Warm and cosy within their self righteous misery
Which to them is the safest place to be
A place where they are spared
The long and painful encounter
With the shadow of themselves
From which they fled

I found this new video of Leonard Cohen brilliant and exquisite poem “Happens to The Heart”, the emotions of the lyrics and vivid video, cover just about everything of what happens to the heart….enjoy Deb xxx

So profound especially the emotions and journey portrayed in the video. Love that guitar rolling under the surface And that it ends in that deep deep silence.

People are going to say and think what they want, no matter the context or how much it hurts another individual. I’m not into laying judgement down on other people, seeing as how I do not walk in their shoes and I wouldn’t want them judging me.
Keep moving forward in your own shoes. ๐

If anything this has taught me to be even more vigilant of when I start to judge others, Marc.
