Here within a shifting sea I float
Not always knowing what is the ‘reality’
There is you and there is me
There is also the space between
Sometimes expanding
Sometimes dissolving
There is the ocean of my heart
Sometimes choppy
Sometimes calm
There is, too
The distant lure of memories
That float in
On a warm spring afternoon breeze
After I wake in a sunlit rooom
Not knowing what time of day it is
Looking at the soft gray cardigan you wore
Remembering how in later years
You too sought your rest
From a lifetime of pain
These memories appear
And then they wash away again
If I just let them float
Away on the tide
Letting go with the breath
While seeking a way to find my moorings
As my body uncoils its self
Seeking the solid foundation
That ever so slowly emerges
From beneath
Thats beautiful Deb! Well done on such an incredibly powerful piece! ā¤
