And could not understand

I was most probably blind

As we all can be

And at times all I felt

Was just this imprisonment

Strangling me

And like a wild beast

I longed to be free

And I can understand how it was for you

To not know what to do

And to have your own barricades too

So firmly in place

It made it impossible at the time

For us to embrace each other

That even if time

Does not heal all wounds
